A Little Picnic for the PCN Softball Team . . .
hosted by Leo and Billie Freiburger

Remember this shot from the Main Page??

This is a scene from the longest crochet game in recorded history. There were a lot of players, but the biggest factor in time needed to complete it was that the playing field was laid out uphill!

This single game was at least an hour long and left one or two players pooped . . . uh, very tired. But they'll all say it was fun, too!

Many thanks to Billie's brother, George, who drove from Flint
to do a Gospel/Blue Grass concert for us. This man knows his tunes!
There's more!

Leo had some surprises
for the ball players.
Coach Nate Hacker
received special thanks
for an outstanding
first-year effort.
Not only did he coach
the league winners,
he was a good and
faithful servant in other
ways.

At right is "Red," a
newcomer to the PCN team, but already a part of the church family.

(Gonna' play Charlevoix next year!   Get out the "Mercy Rule!"   They're gonna' need it!)

Pastor Carr also received recognition
for his efforts toward the winning season.

Would you believe that Leo and Billie
have a Woodpecker problem?

This was just about the last scene and don't let it fool you. It was not nearly as mild-mannerred as it looks. Leo and Pastor vs. Dala and Billie - what a contest! It was nip and tuck all the way, and the order of dealing hands was highly questionable. For all intents and purposes, the outcome was a draw. They'll have to pit themselves against one another again -- at some other venue.

Almost forgot! Zachary and Corie (sorry if I misspelled it!) did some serious fishing off the shore and hauled in both a Sunfish and Blue Gill. They were monster specimens, but the soft-hearted fishermen let them go back into the lake. No photo opportunities there!
